I remember your Dad talking to you (Dave) and I one time about the NBA and the 24 second shot clock. When he played that did not exist, and he emphasized that he ran 5 minutes off the clock in one game just dribbling around the opposing team! He didn’t talk much of his own accomplishments but was so proud of you and your brothers. He had some nuggets of wisdom which still stick with me today. I was fortunate enough to be riding in the backseat of the car while he took us to NTW before you had a car, when he would give you some Fatherly advice, he would then look at me in the rear view mirror and smile. He was a great guy and I hope you find comfort in knowing how many people he left a positive impact on.
His college teammates confirmed the story about dribbling out the clock for 5 minutes... and the opposing team apparently chased him off the court at the buzzer...
Some of my best memories of him include the advice he gave while driving us to school. He knew you were my best friend and he loved you.
